Criminal Defense Attorney

Attorney Arnoldo Benitez

was born in Guatemala and moved to Rhode Island at the age of 2. He obtained an economics degree from the University of Rhode Island where he was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island he attended Suffolk University Law School in Boston, Massachusetts. During law school he interned at the Rhode Island Office of the Attorney General. While at Suffolk Law School, Attorney Benitez served as the President of the Immigration Law Association for three years and served as the Director of Public Relations for the Latin American Law Students Association and the Vice President of the Suffolk Law School Soccer Club during his final year in law school. Attorney Benitez also studied international law at the University of Lund in Sweden for two summers.

 

After graduating from law school

 Attorney Benitez set up his own law practice where he worked on immigration and criminal defense cases. After a year as a solo practitioner, Attorney Benitez worked for a law firm with offices in Providence and Boston where he worked on immigration, family and criminal defense matters. In early 2021, Attorney Benitez went back to running his own law firm, focusing on immigration law. Special areas of practice include asylum, special immigrant juvenile visas, deportation defense, adjustment of status and citizenship and naturalization cases. Attorney Benitez also handles criminal defense and family law cases throughout the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Attorney Benitez

Understands how intimidating immigration law can be. He understands and relates to many of his clients on a personal level having gone through the complex immigration system with his family as a teen. One of his most proud moments of his life was when he took the oath to become a United States Citizen during his second year of law school.

Attorney Benitez has your best interests at heart. He has received various awards as an attorney including a Citizen Citation in recognition of his many contributions and steadfast support for the Guatemalan community in the city of Providence.
